Doomdelic Instrumental Space Prog Rockers L'IRA DEL BACCANO are back with their official 5th full lenght album on Subsound Records "The Praise of Folly". Out on February 20th 2026.
Guitarist Alessandro Santori says about the album:
" We are very excited to finally release these three songs that we have worked hard to arrange on over the past two years. Once again we invite the listener to join us on a journey beyond the constraints of song form and genre, and to dive into The Praise of Folly like
reading a book where you never know what will happen when you turn the page... sometimes exactly what you expect, but very often... absolutely not. From the production point of view we pushed even more on the live aspect and sounds of the single performance.
We decided to not edit and comping between different takes of each song but to choose wich one to use on the base of general feeling and then add some post arrangements to emphasize specific passages. We definetely did not want to create a perfect Franke

2 years and half after the critically acclaimed "TERRA 42" the italian band returns with " PARADOX HOURGLASS " and continue the instrumental journey through different songs structures while melting in their unique style and sound vibes going from the doom influences of Black Sabbath with the 60’s/70’s psychedelia of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, to heavy-prog vibes of bands like Rush, as well as the performing freedom of jam bands as The Grateful Dead.

"PARADOX HOURGLASS" signs again the collaboration and link between the band and the Italian artist Fabio Listrani, who also did all the marvelous artwok for the previous album Terra42.
This time Listrani translate the band music and album main theme, paradoxes, in his fascination for tarots and symbolism..

Producer and guitarist Alessandro Santori says about the album:
Cosmic Evoked Potentials is a rite of passage, the end of a cicle and already blooming of another.
Surely our most instinctive effort so far. We went back to our roots of live recording, this time instead of a stage
we chose an old mansion from late '1700 outside Rome. The atmosphere there was so charming and stimulating
that 13 minutes of a 45 min long improvisation ended up in the album. We wanted the dynamics and moods of the
parts to be the most important thing, taking more time than our usual developing the "story" of the songs.

-The album was recorded live in concert when the band's name was still LOOSIN'o'FREQUENCIES (formed in 1996,with a mcd produced by the Guru of Doom Paul Chain) and marked the official change
of the band in "instrumental". The Italians then decided to chance name after the mix was ready and right before opening their "MySpace" page. During 2008 the album started to circulate in the underground with
enthusiastic reviews from small blogs to site as Roadburn.com
